I focus on part of the job that is fun and rewarding such as developing a new analytical method or launching a new product. I try not to think about annoyances like not being able to please everyone, and parameters outside of my control.

Take breaks! I step away from the desk to refocus myself and clear my mind. There are a lot of things you can do to keep yourself motivated, but really you need to figure out what works best for you and make them habits! Remember you have good days and bad days, it does truly matter that the good outweigh the bad to stay motivated.
