If you need a visa to enter the United States, you need to start the application process as soon as possible, as it might take a few months before your visa request is approved. ACS can produce a visa letter to use with your visa application.

Visa Letters

Meeting Presenters

Personalized visa letters are available for download once the symposium organizer or program chair has accepted your abstract(s). Presenting authors should access and download their personalized visa letters through their MAPS accounts. There are no exceptions to this process.

Refer to the brief video below, which demonstrates how to access/download visa letters in MAPS.

Meeting Attendees Who Are Not Presenters

Access a general visa letter from your meeting registration confirmation.

Preparing to Attend an ACS Meeting

After you complete the visa application process, use ACS meeting & event resources to register, plan your travel, reserve your hotel room, and create your schedule. To save money and assure you receive proper accommodations, we strongly recommend that you complete your hotel reservations and register for the meeting through ACS before the deadlines.

All attendees, including speakers and poster presenters, must register for the meeting in order to participate in the technical sessions or the exposition. Attendees must display their badge at all times to be admitted to all official ACS sessions and events.
