Program Information

Here’s a quick guide to navigate the various programming and event types scheduled to take place during the ACS Fall 2020 Virtual Meeting & Expo!

TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS 

Broadcast Session

Comprised of multiple pre-recorded presentations with slides and audio/video, Broadcast Sessions will occur concurrently twice per day to allow for real-time chat box discussions with presenters. 

Interactive video Q&A with session presenters will be available at the conclusion of each session. Presentations will be available individually on demand* after the scheduled sessions through August 28.

On Demand Oral Presentation

Pre-recorded presentations with slides and audio/video will be available on demand* beginning August 17 and through August 28 for registrants.

Message based discussions between viewers and presenters will be available for each presentation. 

On Demand Poster Presentation

A single slide or PDF along with audio (at the discretion of presenter) of the poster will be available on demand* beginning August 17 and through August 28 for registrants.

Temporary Access Presentations

At the request of some authors, their presentations will only be available for a scheduled 2-hour time period. These presentations are identified in the meeting platform.

*All presenters will have the option to make presentations accessible temporarily and isolated to a single assigned 2-hour period, or allow access to view for the duration of the meeting. Broadcast Session presentations will be available on demand following the scheduled Broadcast Session, except those where temporary access is requested by the presenter. Temporary access content will be indicated in the meeting platform.

LIVE EVENTS

Morning Live Events will take place daily Monday – Wednesday starting at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). On Thursday the event will begin at 7:00 AM PDT. Each morning Live Event will include interactive video Q&A. 

Afternoon Live Events will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM PDT. Sci-Mix, an interdivisonal poster and networking session will be on Tuesday. The Undergraduate Research poster event will be on Wednesday.

NETWORKING EVENTS

We’re hosting virtual networking events to help you connect and share ideas with your peers from around the world. Programming Divisions and Committees will use video Networking Rooms to host events like lunch breaks, happy hours, and awards recognition. Visit the Networking Rooms page in the meeting platform for individual schedules.
