Travel to the US

ACS has members worldwide, many of whom travel to the United States for work, collaboration, or meetings. Find information on obtaining a U.S. visa, the visa waiver program for travelers from selected countries, and what to do if you have visa problems.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  If you are in the U.S. on a temporary non-immigrant visa and plan to visit Mexico from San Diego, you should consult your country‚Äôs embassy in Mexico to determine eligibility.  Upon return to the U.S., you will need to present your valid passport (with at least six months before expiration) and your U.S. visa at the U.S./Mexico border. Please take note of whether your U.S. visa has been issued for a single entry or for multiple entries. If you have not been granted a multi-entry U.S. visa, you will not be able to return to the U.S. once you have entered Mexico. Your visa type may be determined by looking for the number or letter under the "Entries" section on your U.S. visa. Single entry visas are denoted by the number 1, whereas multiple entry visas are denoted with a certain number (2, 3, etc.) or "M" for multiple/unlimited entries. For more information, please visit:

Preparing to Attend an ACS Meeting

To save money and assure you receive proper accommodations, we strongly recommend that you complete your hotel reservations and register for the meeting through ACS before the deadlines.

All attendees, including speakers and poster presenters, must register for the meeting in order to participate in the technical sessions or the exposition. Attendees must display their badge at all times in order to be admitted to all official ACS sessions and events.
