Ask an ACS Chemist!

Do you remember being a student in a chemistry course, and searching for an answer to a relatively simple question for something you were working on? Rather than spending copious amounts of time perusing periodicals and journals, it would have been much easier to pose your question directly to someone who has expertise in the field, right? Well, there are many students now facing the same dilemma.

The ACS has launched a new program called Ask an ACS Chemist. This is a free utility available to anyone in search of answers to general chemistry and science-related questions. If you have a question, simply visit the Ask an ACS Chemist ACS Network group.

ACS is actively recruiting ACS member chemists and other scientific professionals to participate by providing their expertise. If you or one of your colleagues would be interested in signing up, please send an email to and mention that you would like to participate in the Ask an ACS Chemist program. This initiative would require very little commitment on your end. Just think how immensely such a modest connection between a chemical professional and an aspiring student could impact his or her future in chemistry.
