Local Section, Technical Division & Region Treasurers Workshop
The ACS Local Section, Technical Division, and Regional Meeting Treasurers’ Workshop was held in conjunction with the ACS National Meeting in San Francisco, CA on April 4, 2017. Facilitated by the ACS Financial Services Division, the workshop provided: tools to help with financial management; IRS compliance requirements; ACS annual reporting expectations; pros and cons for incorporation; and staff contacts and web resources.
2016 Pre-Leadership Institute Webinar
The ACS Leadership Institute is designed to prepare and provide the necessary tools for local section leaders. The Pre-Leadership Institute Webinar is for all local section officers in leadership positions and includes topics such as the nuts and bolts of leading a local section, communication, and available resources.
Communicating with the Public for ACS Local Section Events Webinar
Sponsored by the Committee on Local Section Activities (LSAC) and the Committee on Public Relations & Communications (CPRC), topics included: Strategies to better communicate activities and events with the general public, with a focus on communicating and partnering with the public locally; traditional methods of public relations (news releases), and social media (Twitter, Facebook); and ways to partner with existing organizations (science museums, libraries, etc.).
