Iocetamic acid is a medical diagnostic aid. It is a contrast agent used to enhance structures or fluids during X-ray imaging. It was first prepared at Dagra Pharmaceuticals in The Netherlands in 1967, and various researchers established its pharmacological, toxicological, and metabolic properties within the next 2 years.
