Diesel Technology Forum
Allen Schaeffer has served as Executive Director of the Diesel Technology Forum since May, of 2000 when the Forum was founded. The Forum represents the nation’s leaders in clean diesel technology – engine and equipment manufacturers, fuel refiners and emissions control technology manufacturers. The organization serves as a primary resource and partner for policymakers, media and non-governmental organizations on issues and activities related to the use of diesel technology. Mr. Schaeffer’s area of expertise includes environmental and clean air policy, and economics, essential uses, energy efficiency, public health, transportation, goods movement, industrial technology, legacy product, and power generation of diesel engines. He has represented the industry on various EPA advisory committees on clean air and diesel issues, appeared in numerous news media and testified before both houses of Congress and worked directly with the White House and Senior Administration officials. He holds a Masters in environmental health sciences from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD, and a bachelor of science from the University of Maryland.
