Dr. Fava is the managing director for Five Winds International, a multi-disciplinary consultancy committed to sustainable development. He has over 30 years experience working with companies and organizations to develop and apply the concepts and tools of sustainability to their processes and products and led the development of an environmental decision-making framework that included five environmental strategy options. For more than 10 years, he has chaired Five Winds’ Product Sustainability Roundtable with the mission of improving the performance of member companies by providing support and advice to their product-oriented programs. Dr. Fava has played a critical role in the creation of the ISO 14000 family of standards (including lifecycle assessment). He is currently serving on the World Resources Institute/World Business Council for Sustainable Development Steering Committee for the Scope 3 and Product GHG Protocol efforts. He has a Ph.D. in environmental toxicology from the University of Maryland.
