The team is developing reliability standards to enable doctors to confidently make treatment and prevention decisions based on a patient’s individual genetic makeup.
New and emerging DNA sequencing technologies mean that individual clinicians now have access to Human Genome Project-level data for their patients. Before using this data to inform treatment, however, it is important for doctors to be able to assess its accuracy using the standards developed by Dr. Locascio and her team.
