American Chemical Society to host career fairs Sept. 8-10

Indianapolis, July 17, 2013 –– More than 1,000 job-seeking chemists and chemical engineers are expected to participate in an online and onsite career fair beginning Sept. 8 in Indianapolis at the 246th National Meeting and Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world’s largest scientific society. Nearly 50 representatives of major chemical manufacturers, government agencies, academia and nonprofit organizations will be available for interviews and to disseminate information.

Job seekers and employers can participate either onsite at the Indiana Convention Center, Sept. 8-10, or online (www.acs.org/careerfair), Sept. 9-10. Registration is required to participate. Employers must register by Aug. 26 for the virtual career fair. Job seekers may register at any time.

“ACS has hundreds of highly qualified candidates for chemical and scientific positions, and they will be in Indianapolis at our career fair to meet and interview with employers,” said David Harwell, assistant director of ACS Career Management and Development. “We will also conduct a virtual career fair in conjunction with the onsite fair to expand the reach of employers to find talented, innovative and driven job seekers from around the globe. If you have a job to fill, we have the best candidates, and we will make it easy for you to find them.”

Online Virtual Career Fair
Monday, Sept. 9, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 10, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to job placement opportunities and career enhancement workshops and webinars, ACS career consultants will be available to provide one-on-one career assistance through mock interviews and resume reviews.
