During National Volunteer Week, ACS thanks volunteers who unite to make a difference

WASHINGTON, April 9, 2019 — During National Volunteer Week (April 7–13), the American Chemical Society (ACS) honors the many contributions of its dedicated members and chemistry enthusiasts. Their collective action empowers individuals and communities locally, nationally and globally.

Volunteers tirelessly give their time, their energy and their skills through ACS events, local sections and technical divisions, high school chemistry clubs, National Chemistry Week and Chemists Celebrate Earth Week as well as through professional and student mentoring, committee service and reviewing of manuscripts and proposals – to name just a few activities. ACS cannot advance chemistry alone. It’s through the support and involvement of our volunteers that we’re capable of fulfilling the ACS vision of improving people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.

That’s why during National Volunteer Week, your contributions hold special meaning for us. Because when it came time, you took action. ACS volunteers: We thank you.
