ACS offers a variety of opportunities to enrich yourself and others. From leadership development to mentoring students and coaching professionals, there’s something for everyone who wants to give back and share their skills in the chemistry community.

Do Hands-On Demonstrations

Learning about chemistry can be fun - for children as well as adults! Share your appreciation and love of chemistry as you demonstrate its usefulness and value.

Mentor Students

Give students the chance to experience what it’s like to be a chemist through actual work experiences or to hone their skills in a global competition with their peers.

Give Career Advice

Share your knowledge in areas such as finding and being a mentor, preparing a resume, job-search strategies, and career management and planning.

Advocate for Chemistry

Stay informed and provide input on high-priority issues that can impact the chemical enterprise.

Become an ACS Leader

Participate on the local, regional, and national levels as a student, as someone beginning their career, or as a seasoned professional.

Get Involved in ACS Locally

Most volunteer opportunities and activities that foster chemistry are organized and coordinated through ACS Local Sections, Student Chapters, or International Chapters.
