ACS provides scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in chemistry and chemistry-related disciplines to support their educational journey and professional development.

To support and empower K-12 educators in their important work, ACS offers a broad portfolio of classroom and web-based resources. These lessons, programs, and activities help teachers spark students’ imagination, highlight the role of chemistry in everyday life, and introduce fundamental concepts and practices.

Established in 1968, Project SEED provides paid summer laboratory experiences to economically disadvantaged high school students across the nation. Through the program, students discover exciting career paths and develop college readiness and professional development skills. Dedicated scientist mentors ensure that Project SEED participants complete the program with an enhanced appreciation for science and a clearer vision for their future.

Established in 1984, the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad invites high school students to an annual chemistry competition that tests their knowledge against their peers. Top-scoring students compete for a chance to represent the U.S. at the International Chemistry Olympiad. The program engages many in a rewarding experience that encourages them to further their knowledge of chemistry and shapes their awareness of the global chemistry community.

The ACS Bridge Project aims to increase the number of Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, and Hispanic students earning doctoral degrees in the chemical sciences. In addition to receiving funding for their education, students are matched with academic departments that are establishing new practices to effectively attract and retain underrepresented students, while providing mentoring, research opportunities, and other resources to help them complete their graduate degrees.
