Get started by registering for a Local Chemistry Olympiad competition!

Local competitions are:

  • The first step in the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad, held each March
  • Overseen by volunteer USNCO Coordinators at ACS Local Sections
  • Open to all high school students in the U.S. (See Rules & Eligibility)

How to Register for Your Local Chemistry Olympiad:

Students

Parents/guardians of students interested in competing must register them with ACS .

Registration does not guarantee participation in the program.

Students will be notified by the USNCO Coordinators if their participation was confirmed.

Home-Schooled Students

Parents/guardinas of home-schooled students interested in competing must register with ACS.

Teachers

Teachers should inform students interested in competing that their parents/guardians must register them with ACS (see information for students to the left).

Teachers will receive an email information when their students are registered.

Teachers are encouraged to assit students in preparations for the exam and contact the USNCO Coordinator to learn about the program in their ACS Local Section.
