Nomination Period Extended: Due to the impacts of the federal government shutdown on many of our members, we have extended the nomination period for the 2027 National Awards until December 15 at 11.59 PM ET.
Purpose
To recognize creative and impactful research by an investigator in the area of nanochemistry, broadly defined.
Description
The award will consist of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.
Eligibility
The award is granted regardless of race, gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, presence of disabilities, and educational background.

History
The Dong Qin ACS Award in Nanochemistry, named for Dr. Dong Qin (December 3, 1967 – November 30, 2023), Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, was established in 2024. The first award will be given in 2026.
