Opportunity Description:

This position will be in the department of Medicinal Chemistry in San Diego or Redwood City and is focused on the development of new organic reaction methods and technologies to enable advancement of ongoing medicinal chemistry projects.Key Responsibilities-Independently develop and optimize reaction parameters and design experiments to understand the scope of tolerability of new chemical transformations.-Contribute to the proposal of new experiments and synthesis targets -Literature evaluation of proposed reaction routes and identification for improvements.-Isolation, purification, and characterization of newly synthesized compounds.-Participate and contribute during scientific discussions, meetings and presentations.-Record experiments, results and characterization data in laboratory notebooks in sufficient detail and in a timely fashion.
