Dr. Richa Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, and her team at the University of Calgary, Canada, are seeking an outstanding candidate with Ph.D. and a strong publication record with an exceptional passion for advancing the point of care molecular diagnostic tools. We are looking for a team member to spearhead and shape the project over a period of 2-3 years. We will provide a very dynamic and supportive interdisciplinary environment with dedicated mentoring and excellent opportunities for continued career development. Work Performed: You will lead a project on developing a molecular diagnostic test. You will use and advance new device fabrication approaches developed by our group and collaborators. You will use and advance biochemical and molecular diagnostic approaches to develop new assays to target multiple disease biomarkers. You will also have the opportunity to supervise graduate and undergraduate students, gain leadership experience in collaborative projects and contribute to grant applications and high impact publications. Qualifications: PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related area with strong publication record. Fluent in written and spoken English and demonstrated excellence in scientific writing. Demonstrated exceptional communication and analytical skills. Demonstrated hands-on expertise in assay development, nucleic acid and protein biochemistry, molecular biology. Strong statistical foundation and expertise in data analysis. Hands-on expertise in lateral flow tests, electrochemistry, and microbiology are important assets.
