McCrone Associates, Inc., a Chicago-area analytical laboratory, seeks a highly motivated, detail oriented, organic or analytical chemist with experience in investigative, non-routine microanalysis and problem solving. The position requires project management skills and direct correspondence with clients from a variety of industries helping them solve their materials and contamination problems using modern chemistry and microanalysis techniques and instruments, such as light microscopy, FTIR, Raman, GC/MS, HPLC/LCMS, and DART Accu-TOF. Requirements The ideal candidate will have a master’s or doctorate degree (or equivalent work experience) in analytical or organic chemistry or materials science with five or more years of relevant, hands-on laboratory experience in spectroscopy and chromatography for materials analysis and problem solving. An expertise in the interpretation of IR spectra is desired. Excellent oral and written communications skills are essential. Strong software skills with instrument operation and Microsoft Office applications are mandatory. This position does not involve management of personnel; however, strong teamwork and leadership skills are essential to managing project flow and efficiency. Experience working in cGMP and ISO 17025 regulated laboratories is desired. Summary This position requires in-person, full-time hours at our laboratory in Westmont, Illinois. Hybrid and/or remote work arrangements are not available for this position. The applicant selected must be a U.S. Citizen; will be subject to a pre-employment background check and must be eligible for a government security clearance.
