Are you interested in expanding your knowledge of modeling and simulation as a member of a team of scientists and engineers at a DOE national laboratory? We are seeking undergraduate student summer interns in the areas of atomistic materials modeling and high-performance scientific computing as part of the NNSA Minority Serving Institution Partnership Program (MSIPP) Consortium for Nuclear Security Advanced Manufacturing Enhanced by Machine Learning (NSAM-ML). As an intern in Sandia's Center for Computing Research, you will address challenges in atomistic materials modeling for engineering materials using our LAMMPS molecular dynamics code. This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues including researchers from your own field, applications specialists, and others. On any given day, you may be called on to: • Engage with Sandia technical staff in the area of atomistic materials modeling • Design, execute, and evaluate simulations of materials systems using the LAMMPS molecular dynamics code • Participate in Sandia's Center for Computing Research Summer Intern Program Internships are restricted to students at the three NSAM-ML consortium schools: North Carolina Central University, Southern University at Baton Rouge, and Elizabeth City State University.
