Opportunity Description:
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Jason R. Becker at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. The laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms regulating genetic and acquired cardiomyopathies to identify novel methods to prevent heart failure and sudden death (Circulation. 2023 Dec 5;148(23):1870-1886 and Cardiovasc Res. 2022 Jul 20;118(9):2124-2138). The laboratory utilizes multiple different experimental model systems, including transgenic mice, human induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiomyocytes, and human tissue analysis.
Qualifications: A PhD or MD/PhD with experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, and/or pharmacology. Ideal candidates will be motivated, collaborative, interested in solving problems and developing new experimental methods.
