ACS/CACS Collaboration

The American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Chinese American Chemical Society (CACS) signed a three year Chemistry Enterprise Partnership (CEP) in 2019. The alliance agreement recognizes the importance of cooperation between the ACS and the Chinese-American chemical communities in scientific, educational, and public outreach projects. The agreement will be characterized by the shared commitment to cooperation in service to chemical scientists, engineers, students, educators and professionals.


Elements of the ACS/CACS Partnership Include:

  • A focus on the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Technical programming and collaboration on symposia, workshops, webinars, and additional events.
  • Exploring ACS-CACS member benefits including short courses and discounted membership fees for students.

About the Chinese-American Chemical Society

Chinese American Chemical Society (CACS) is a non-political and non-profit professional organization. The purpose of CACS is to encourage the advancement of chemistry and chemical engineering sciences and technologies in all branches, to improve the qualification and occupational opportunities of its members, to facilitate professional contacts, and to promote interactions with other scientific communities. CACS is the only Chinese professional organization that is officially recognized by ACS and AICheE.

CACS fulfills its purposes through 4-time-a-year activities in conjunction with ACS and AIChE annual meetings, and through wide ranged activities that are organized by the local chapters.
