Saudi Arabia Chapter
As the first International Chemical Sciences Chapter of the ACS, the Saudi Arabian International Chemical Sciences Chapter (SAICSC) helped pioneer the international chapter formation effort. Since its founding in 1988 and incorporation as a recognized ACS affiliate in 1993, the SAICSC has adopted the goals and objectives of the ACS.
The chapter is a dynamic organization which has excelled in the fostering of chemical sciences within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The society has grown and now having some of the best minds in the world of chemical sciences as members, this also allows for excellent networking opportunities. The society is keen to promote discussion within this network which in turn leads to greater accomplishments.
SAICSC-ACS successfully organized the 3rd International Laboratory Technology Conference & Exhibition (LabTech 2014) under the patronage of his Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and Minister in Charge of Oil and Gas Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This conference organized in the Kingdom of Bahrain on October 28-30, 2014. The theme to LabTech 2014 is “Toward Excellence in Laboratory Management”. The conference was a resounding success which was well attended by luminaries from around the globe.
This chapter holds monthly dinners featuring guest speakers.
This chapter promotes chemistry in the community by running chemistry shows in area schools and exhibiting at the Saudi Aramco’s Fall Fair and Earth Day celebrations.
