ACS PRF: Funding for Hydrocarbon Research

ACS PRF grants serve as seed money funding that support professors embarking on their academic career or to enable established researchers in exploring new research directions.

The primary mission of PRF is to support fundamental research within the petroleum and petroleum-related fields, which will improve quality of life today and in the future. All projects funded by PRF adhere to the terms of the PRF Trust. PRF supports fundamental research over applied research. Proposals in chemistry, geology, materials science, and engineering are accepted. The scope of fundamental petroleum research that aligns with the PRF Trust includes many topics of current interest in sustainability and green chemistry such as the development of new catalysts and upgrading/utilization of methane and carbon dioxide.

What unites all PRF research grants is a focus on the petroleum field. The seed money is for early-stage research, without the need for preliminary data. For many recipients, the ACS PRF is their first grant.

This session will share details on how to secure funding through ACS PRF.
