Summary
We are now living in a rapidly-globalizing and knowledge-based economy. To make policies that ensure our businesses and workers continue to lead, we need the best information possible on the state of our nation and its competitive position. Twelve national statistics agencies collect vast data from businesses, universities, non-profits, and citizens. However, many of our data collection methods are antiquated. A number of initiatives are underway to assure that our ability to measure keeps pace with our changing economy.
