Media registration opens for chemical society national meeting March 22-26 in Salt Lake City

News media registration is now open for the American Chemical Society’s 237th National Meeting March 22-26, 2009 in Salt Lake City. Nanoscience is the major theme for the meeting, one of the largest and most significant scientific gatherings of the year. The program includes more than 7,200 presentations, involving scientific topics that range from astronomy to zoology.

Hundreds of research papers will focus on popular topics like food, nutrition, health, medicine, energy, and the environment that connect with everyday life. The on-site press center will be located in Hall A at the Salt Palace Convention Center. ACS provides a fully equipped media workroom for reporters covering the meeting on site. Staff will be available to help arrange interviews.

For reporters planning to cover the meeting from their home bases, the ACS Office of Public Affairs will hold daily press briefings with audio and video available over the Internet. Embargoed copies of press releases and non-technical summaries of research presentations also will be available.

News media can apply for complimentary registration now at media registration. Housing reservations and other information will be available early in 2009 at meeting pressroom.
