American Chemical Society thanks volunteers for service

WASHINGTON, April 19, 2018—In recognition of National Volunteer Week, April 15-21, the American Chemical Society (ACS) acknowledges the many contributions of its members and other chemistry enthusiasts who, year in and year out, devote their time and expertise to strengthening and promoting the chemistry enterprise in their neighborhoods and communities, across the nation and the world.

Time and time again, these energetic individuals and groups come together to organize and participate in a multitude of activities including ACS local section meetings, high school chemistry clubs, National Chemistry Week and Chemists Celebrate Earth Week as well as reviewing of manuscripts and proposals. Together, these events help the Society reach out to the public and fulfill the mission of advancing the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and its people.

And so, ACS salutes all who volunteer for us and with us. You and your efforts help this organization live up to its vision of improving people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.
