Southern Nevada Local Section

The Southern Nevada Local Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) is one of 185 ACS local sections in the country and consists of 257 members from southern Nevada. This local section hosts a variety of annual events and encourages the participation from members of the local community. Such events as Chemistry Olympiad, National Chemistry Week, Chemists Celebrate Earth Day and the Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival. We are dedicated to promoting excellence within our local community through outreach programs that provide networking opportunities and ultimately advanced professional development by building leadership skills.

Southern Nevada National Chemistry Week 2021 Illustrated Poem Contest

The Southern Nevada Local Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) is sponsoring an illustrated poem contest for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Contest Deadline: October 24, 2021 by 11:59 PM PT

Prizes: 1st / 2nd place in each division win their choice of a Family 4-pack of passes for the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum or item of Periodic Table merchandise (e.g. poster, mouse pad, pet placemat, socks)

Winners of the Southern Nevada Local Section’s Illustrated Poem Contest will advance to the National Illustrated Poem Contest for a chance to be featured on the ACS website and to win prizes!
