Colorado State University | Fort Collins, Colorado, United States of America (USA)

Opportunity Type: Full-time, Postdoctoral Experiences

Current Program: Doctorate

Topics: Computational Chemistry

Sector: Academia

Compensation: Paid

Remote Position: No

Opportunity Description:

The Department of Chemistry is hiring a full-time annual-contract Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct research within a federally funded initiative, aimed at developing theoretical models for the prediction of thermal decomposition reactions of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The successful candidate will develop combined quantum chemical – machine learning approaches for accurate and rapid calculation of thermochemical properties, predict the thermal decomposition pathways and kinetics of PFAS in both liquid and solid waste streams, and develop practical predictive relationships that enable rapid thermal stability assessment of previously uncharacterized PFAS. If you have questions about this position, please contact Dr. Anthony Rappé at anthony.rappe@colostate.edu. CSU is an EO/EA/AA employer. Colorado State University conducts background checks on all final candidates
