Role Description:

Hyperion Analytical LLC is looking for a chemistry or environmental engineering intern to join our team to help develop a prototype of an analytical instrument used to monitor environmental contaminants. Having recently completed our first prototype systems and successfully reached the primary milestones, there is a series of experiments needed to optimize component settings and characterize total system performance. This project offers the opportunity to learn about product development, design of experiments, system engineering, and practical knowledge of the business side of science in addition to laboratory experience.

Hyperion Analytical LLC is a startup analytical instrument company with grant funding for development. This exciting stage of the products and the company’s development will show what working for a small company is about.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing solutions and standards for instrument operation
Instrument and equipment maintenance
Operating an HPLC instrument system
Test samples to characterize system performance
Conduct various chemical and electronic experiments to optimize system components
Evaluate component specifications and alternate vendors
Maintenace of laboratory sanitation
