Marciano Bagnoli

Marciano Bagnoli is passionate about innovation management, operational excellence, and advancing science and technology. Currently serving as Operational Excellence Leader for the Americas at Bakelite Synthetics, he drives process improvements across 13 manufacturing sites in North and South America, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and design-thinking methodologies to reduce costs and improve efficiency. He also contributes to shaping ISO quality management frameworks through the ISO Technical Advisory Group 176.

Marciano started his career as a consultant for the Stiftung für Technologie, Innovation und Forschung Thüringen in Erfurt Germany, working on evaluating technical feasibility and potential market demand for start-up companies. Marciano then bolstered the quality management capability at Georgia-Pacific and Shin-Etsu Silicones by facilitating the expansion of the testing laboratories, founding a Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Center of Excellence, hiring and managing a team of chemists and technicians, conducting internal and external audits, as well as leading new product launches and technology transfers from Japan to the United States. Marciano is also committed to education and mentorship, serving on the Natural and Health Sciences Advisory Board for the University of Mount Union and The Center for Science and Industry (COSI)’s KINETIC Board. He also enjoys supporting early-career scientists through the American Chemical Society and American Physical Society through CEPA, Career Pathways Workshops, and Career Consulting.

Marciano holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Mount Union, and later earned a Masters of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services from Carnegie Mellon University.
