MS degree in chemistry from University of North Texas. 27 years in academics as an assistant professor of chemistry and laboratory coordinator, Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas: I have spent 27 years in academics as an assistant professor of chemistry and laboratory coordinator at Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas. I am an educator, wife, mother, and mentor. When not engaged in the classroom, I seek mentoring opportunities with new chemistry and STEM graduates as well as aiding first generation high school students find funding and academic paths towards their career of goals. Past projects and positions include ISEF affiliated regional science fair director, National Conference of Governor's Schools camp coordinator (Texas), ACS local chapter government liaison and National Chemistry Week Coordinator. Current projects include small scale project grant writing (local, state, and private sources), chemical safety and training as high school policy, and helping new high school teachers set up laboratories and experiments efficiently and effectively. I look forward to helping chemists and educators enter the work force, apply for advanced degrees, or start an event or local educational project while also finding work-life balance and accomplishing personal goals.
