Prof. Veena Choudhary obtained her M.Sc from Punjab University Chandigarh [1973] with distinction and Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi [1977]. She was awarded Gold medal for standing first in M.Sc. She is a recipient of very prestigious awards from Germany-Alexander Von Humboldt Fellow at University of Karlsruhe, Germany [1985-86], Indo-US Science and Technology Fellow at Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, USA [1992- 93], Visiting Professor [University of Lund, Sweden, 2000-2001].

Her work on polymer chemistry and polymer nanocomposites is internationally acclaimed. She had more than 37 years of teaching and research experience at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Fifty-one Ph.D. and more than eighty M. Tech. students have successfully completed their projects under her guidance. She has over 400 papers published/presented in Journals/conferences to her credit, as well as seven patents. She has over 12800 citations with 59 H-index, and a 202 I-10 index. She was named the Best Materials Science Scientists in India (Ranked 57) by research.com based on her H-index and citations. She was also ranked in the top 2% of Stanford University Scientists for 2022.

She was elected as vice-President of the Society for Polymer Science, India. Prof. Veena Choudhary has successfully completed a number of industrial and sponsored research projects and has been collaborated with University of Southern Mississippi, USA, University of South Brittany, France, RWTH, Aachen, Germany, Technical University, Dresden, Germany. She has visited several universities as visiting faculty. She has served as a member of various committees of the Ministry of External Affiars, Ministry of Sports and Youth affairs, DRDO, CSIR, DST and several International Committees.
