Kara KasaKaitas graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor’s of Science. She began her laboratory career in clinical research and transitioned to an analytical chemist role, spending most of her time at the bench in the pharmaceutical industry.
After volunteering with the American Chemical Society on a local and national level for many years, Kara realized her true passion was networking and career development. Kara has over 15 years of experience working in scientific recruitment. She currently works as the Director, Recruitment and University Relations for Aegis Sciences Corporation, a Nashville-based forensic toxicology laboratory, where she focuses on recruiting scientists as well as developing relationships with colleges and universities nationwide.
Kara continues her volunteer work with ACS today, and was honored with the American Chemical Society Fellow distinction in 2018.
