Featured Chemist: Dr. Stan Whittingham

Dr. Stan Whittingham is a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science & Engineering at SUNY Binghamton, and inventor of lithium batteries! After spending more than 15 years in the industry, he now works with enthusiastic students in the classroom and in the lab.

Dr. Wittingham is also one of the awardees of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on the lithium-ion battery! Read about it in C&EN.
