What do you love about your job?
Everything. I started a business so that I could have my ideal job combining science, food, craft, and service. Imbibe Solutions is a quality control laboratory for breweries, wineries, and other craft businesses. I get to split my days between working in the lab and working on-site to help craftsmen produce the best product they possibly can. There is nothing better than building a career to match your dreams.

What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?
Other than starting a business from the ground up, by myself? Probably the thrill of being recognized as an intellectual within the brewing industry. I've been asked to speak at meetings, present courses, and join panels in both the brewing industry and academic settings. The recognition for all of my hard work makes me truly feel accomplished.

What would you tell yourself at age 18?
Keep your mind open to who you could become. You can't predict where life will take you and how you will change on that journey. What seems impossible now, may become a dream you master.

How has ACS Scholars impacted your life and career?
I've always loved science, but I really didn't like chemistry in high school. Once I got to college, something changed and I fell in love with the puzzles of reactions, structures, and analytics. ACS Scholars then gave me the tools to be successful in pursuing my degree and a way to help the gastronomic community I adore.
