What do you love about your job?
I love the opportunities I have everyday to interact with and impact the next generation of scientists.

What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?
It has been very exciting to see my students develop and to help them reach their potential!

What would you tell yourself at age 18?
I would tell my 18-year-old self to work hard, dream big, and be courageous. Don't let fear of the unknown hold you back. When I was 18, I never would have imagined I would be where I am today. I wouldn't have gotten here without pushing my limits and venturing frequently into uncomfortable territory. It took me a while to get up the courage to do that though; my advice would be to push your comfort zone early and often!

How has ACS Scholars impacted your life and career?
I wouldn't have made it through my undergraduate and graduate careers without the help of my incredible support system, which the ACS Scholars program was a vital part of. In addition to providing financial support to help me complete my education, the ACS Scholars program helped set me up with a mentor who helped guide me through my coursework and research. I still value my mentor's friendship to this day. It would not have been possible without the support of the ACS Scholar's program.
