What do you love about your job?
Even on a bad day, I am still great at what I do. Also, the company I work for is a great employer. My hours are flexible. I can work from home, and I have the support to give back to my community.

What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?
For me it is the small things. When my director (my boss's boss) recognizes my contribution and provides feedback on the work that I'm doing, I have found that to be the things that excite me. Knowing that my work is valuable to my company is what excites me about my job. I have managed to find a career that I love, and being able to couple that with knowing my work matters it was excites me.

What would you tell yourself at age 18?
The university has people who are paid to help you study....USE THAT HELP. Don't wait until your second year to take advantage of the tutoring services.

How has ACS Scholars impacted your life and career?
YES! I'm no longer in a chemistry field, but I'm still in a STEM field. My undergraduate in Materials Engineering taught me to think methodically, and then my work in that same field directed me towards the part of the job I enjoyed most. I took that small part of materials engineering and made that my entire job in data analytics. ACS put me on the STEM track and exposed me to STEM professionals. I wouldn't have decided to go into engineering or found my way towards data analytics otherwise.
