The diversity of my work and how it allows me to interact with many great minds. Additionally, I have always had a very curious mind that wanders through a wide array of subjects. What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?
The ability to combine my personal interests with my professional interests.
What would you tell yourself at age 18?
Never give up!
How has ACS Scholars impacted your life and career?
ACS Scholars allowed me to fully dedicate myself to my studies and achieve my full potential as a student. I then explored other interests, such as starting a biodiesel co-op with a classmate. We worked with a nearby farm to produce biodiesel for their equipment and vehicles with used cooking oil that we collected from local restaurants. The operation of this small scale chemical plant taught me valuable lessons later helped me become a successful chemical engineer.
