What do you love about your job?
I have been a pharmacist since 2013, a pharmacy manager since 2014, and a published author of 10 Tactics to Tackle Studying since 2014. I love counseling patients to have the best expectations and positive outcomes from their medications. I enjoy managing my staff to create the best possible work environment and patient experience when they enter my pharmacy.

What has been the most exciting part of your career so far?
The most exciting part was being chosen to be a panelist for Former President Barack Obama’s Civic Engagement discussion at UofC in April 2016. I had a platform to speak of my profession, request funding for universities, and share some personal experiences on live television with the panel for 90mins.

What would you tell yourself at age 18?
Even though the path looks long and hard, continue on your path. Continue to motivate yourself since friends and family will not always believe in your ability to be something greater. Just because you were raised in a low income home in Chicago with a public school education doesn’t mean you can’t achieve great things.

How has ACS Scholars impacted your life and career?
I was able to receive this scholarship which helped me in assistance with other organizations to be debt free from undergrad.
