Arsenicin A is the first known natural product to contain more than one arsenic atom. It was isolated from the New Caledonian marine sponge Echinochalina bargibanti in 2006 by I. Mancini and colleagues. In late 2009, R. B. Wild and co-workers reported the synthesis of this unusual compound, which may have useful medicinal properties.
