Hydroxylammonium nitrate, the salt of hydroxylamine and nitric acid, can also be considered a hydroxy derivative of ammonium nitrate. It is unstable and potentially explosive in dry form. NH3OHNO3 has been and continues to be tested as a rocket monopropellant because, like NH4NO3, it contains oxidizing and reducing components.
