ACS Outreach Summit
A training program for chemists to help others through science outreach and help chemists succeed within ACS.
October & November 2023 | In-person event, local travel support avaiable
The ACS Outreach Summit is an opportunity for chemists who do science outreach to interact with other volunteers in their region through in-person programming and beyond through virtual networking sessions. These ACS Outreach Summits are an extension of the Festival Training Institute program.
Local travel support is available for some attendees. Preference will be given to volunteers local to each summit (i.e. in the USA or India)
There are two events planned for 2023:
- Summit 1: Washington DC, USA. Oct 2 - 4, 2023
- Summit 2: Delhi, India. Nov 6 - 8, 2023

- Communication through hands-on activities
- Communication with adults about research
- Event marketing
- Event Logistics
- Fundraising and assessment
- Volunteer recruitment
- Safety in outreach settings
- Additional ACS resources
Who Should Apply:
- USA Summit - volunteers based in the USA
- India Summit - volunteers based in India
- Coordinators of Chemists Celebrate Earth Week and National Chemistry Week
- Coordinators for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad
- Winners and applicants for international Chemistry Festival grants
- Domestic and international Student Chapters
- Local Section outreach coordinators
- Other interested individuals
