Trichoviridin, or isonitrin C, is an isonitrile antibiotic with an unusual highly functionalized cyclopentane ring that contains two reactive epoxide substituents. It is isolated from Trichoderma species of soil-borne fungi. D. F. Taber and H. Yu reported its total synthesis in 1999. Trichoviridin and other Trichoderma metabolites have been used to control crop pathogens.
