Institutional Environment
Because the program exists in the context of the institutional mission, it must support the needs, career goals and interests of the institution's students.
Institutional Accreditation
- The institution must be accredited by the regional accrediting body.
Program Organization
- The chemistry faculty must have reasonable autonomy over budget, faculty selection, promotion, curriculum development and assignment of teaching responsibilities.
Program Budget
- The institution must have stable financial support at a reasonable level that is consistent with the resources of the institution and its educational mission.
Number of Graduates
- The program must award an average of at least two chemistry degrees per year during any six-year period.
