The ACS ChemLuminary Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 20, at the Sheraton Denver Downtown, Plaza Ballroom A-C.  The celebration will begin with a poster session and reception. V. Michael Mautino, retired from Covestro,  and the recipient of the 2024 Award for Volunteer Service to the American Chemical Society, will deliver the keynote address. The awards presentation given by 21 committees of the Society will follow, and the event will conclude with a dance social.

This year's theme is "Elevating the Dedication of Our Volunteers," which celebrates the work of our volunteers to continue improving all people's lives through the transforming power of chemistry.

The event schedule is as follows:

8:00 pm - 9:00 pm MT: Poster Session & Reception
9:00 pm - 10:00 pm MT: ACS ChemLuminary Awards Ceremony
10:00 pm - 12:00 am MT: Dance Social

Celebrate Your Outstanding Programming!

ACS ChemLuminary Awards honor the best examples of programming, outreach, and operations from ACS local sections, technical divisions, regional meetings, and international chemical sciences chapters. 

Officers should submit ChemLuminary Awards nominations through Community Connection as part of the ACS Annual Report. The nomination period is November 1 to February 15.


How to Nominate

All ChemLuminary Awards nominations should be submitted by local section, technical division and international chemical sciences chapter officers via the Annual Report. Please contact the officers of your group to inquire about submitting a nomination.
