Information for Current ACS-Hach Professional Development Grant Recipients

Congratulations on receiving the ACS-Hach High School Chemistry Grant! We hope that the grant has benefited you in your efforts to improve the teaching and learning of chemistry in your classroom. 

The Hach Program requires recipients to submit a report on your accomplishments, challenges, activities, and overall experience resulting from your grant award. The final report is a way to help you meet the conditions of the award, and it is your opportunity to share your experience with us and others who may be interested in applying in the future.

  • If you are reapplying for a Hach grant, please submit your final report by January 4, 2019.
  • If you are NOT reapplying for a Hach grant, final reports are due by March 30, 2019.

Interested in Reapplying?

You may reapply for the ACS-Hach Professional Development Grant if you have not been a recipient for two consecutive academic years. If you have been a grant recipient for two consecutive years, you must wait two grant cycles (two academic years) before applying for a new grant.

If you plan to apply for the 2018-2019 grant cycle, you must submit your report (by January 4, 2019) BEFORE submitting an application.

Report Components

Your Professional Development Experience

Summarize your professional development experience.  In your summary, tell us about your experience, where and when your experience took place, why you chose to do it, and what you learned as a result of it. (500 words maximum)


Student Impact

Number of Students Impacted

Provide an estimate on the number of students impacted by your grant during this period.

Benefits to Your Students

Describe how you incorporated the experience in your classroom.  Include in your description the number of students impacted, how the students were impacted, and how your classroom has changed as a result of your experience.  (500 words maximum)


Sharing with Colleagues

Tell us how you shared your experience with your colleagues and what were the outcomes from your efforts. (500 words maximum)


Future Plans

Share what you plan to do going forward as a result of your grant. (250 words maximum)


Personal Headshot

Submit your personal headshot in high resolution (300 DPI, 5 MB max) and image format (jpeg/gif/png). Do not insert the photo into a MS Word or PDF document.  


Photos & Photo Captions (Optional)

You may submit up to 3 photos that is active, engaging, and best illustrates your proposed outcomes (i.e., students engagement or you sharing with your fellow colleague(s)). The photo must be high resolution (300 DPI, 5 MB max) and image format (jpeg/gif/png). As with your headshot, do not insert the photos into a MS Word or PDF document. For each photo, provide a caption that describes the captured event and who are involved.

Suggestions
