USNCO Coaching

USNCO Coaching program is paused for 2023. Please contact your local USNCO Coorinator to inquire about local coching or mentoring opportunities. Contact the USNCO office if you have questions.

Coaching sessions are organized over Zoom and coordinated by the American Chemical Society. 30-minute tutorials are followed by 1 hour and 30 minutes of small group work in breakout rooms.

High school teachers with experience in preparing students to compete in USNCO serve as coaches. Each year about 200 students are selected for coaching, coaches work in teams of two, and each team works with approximately 11 high school students at a time. Coaching teams are the same throughout the season.

Slides from the 2020/2021 and 2022 tutorial sessions are shared below. All students can benefit from the USNCO past tutorial slides even if they are not selected for coaching.
