Holly Hajare, Ph.D.

Biography

Holly earned her Ph.D. in chemistry at Stanford University. Through her dissertation research at the interface of organic chemistry and neurobiology, Holly developed molecular tools to study the role of sodium channels in diseases like chronic pain.

She was awarded a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship to support her research efforts. Holly holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yale University.

Dedicated to improving equity in STEM education, Holly has extensive experience in scientific outreach. As a coordinator for Stanford University’s Chemistry Outreach Program, Holly led high school classroom visits to engage students in hands-on experiments. She founded a preK–5 branch of the Outreach Program, hosting events like Science Sundays to foster scientific curiosity in young students.

Holly grew up in Massachusetts and enjoys baking and painting in her free time.
