Due to the termination of the in-person San Francisco National Meeting for the Fall of 2020, the Council Policy Committee met on June 25, 2020 and authorized a virtual Council Meeting to be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 11:00 am EST. The agenda for the meeting is located on this webpage and we expect further communications to be sent soon. We ask that Councilors, and other Local Section and Division Officers to please look for emails from firstname.lastname@example.org with further details.
To familiarize yourself with the virtual meeting platform, please watch this videowhich explains how you will need to log into Lumi, and from there access the meeting’s Zoom link. As well, the Instruction Sheet for Councilors attending the Fall 2020 virtual Council meeting gives more detail on how to access the sites, what browsers to use, and detailed instructions on voting and entering the speaking queue. We request that you both watch the video and read the Instruction Sheet to better familiarize yourself with the virtual Council software platform.
On Thursday, August 13 at 11:00 am ET another ‘mock meeting’ will be held for all Councilors to test logging into the Lumi system, practice voting on the Lumi platform, and practice indicating that you wish to be recognized to speak. As an additional resource, you may watch the video of the first Mock Meeting, held on August 4th. Please note that we would like all our Councilors to participate in one of these mock meetings, or watch the recordings of one afterwards if you are unable to attend. During the mock meetings, instructions will be provided to ensure everyone is comfortable with the technology and how to participate. Due to the virtual platform, we will not be able to provide closed captioning service for this Council meeting.
